Discover the delicate art of wood carving, where you will learn how to carve a beautiful edelweiss from a small piece of wood. You will use an Opinel knife made in Savoie, famous for its quality and precision.
During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to carve edelweiss flowers into a small log, while ensuring optimal safety. The equipment provided is specially adapted for beginners and experienced carvers alike, ensuring an enjoyable and safe experience. This workshop is open to everyone aged 8 and above. Whether you are a child curious to discover a new activity or an adult wishing to develop an artistic skill, you will be welcomed with enthusiasm. Everyone will leave with their own creation, a unique souvenir of this enriching experience. Edelweiss: the star of the mountains! Edelweiss! It is also known as lion's foot, snow star, snow flower, glacier star, silver star, snow immortal, starry cotton plant, or even Queen of the Glaciers... Its scientific name is Leontopodium alpinum. It is one of the most famous mythical mountain plants, partly because of its rarity. Its name comes from the German “edel,” meaning “noble,” and “weiß,” meaning “white.”
